Frontier is about to offer 7-gig fiber across several states

Frontier currently offers fiber internet in most of the 25 states it serves, including California, Texas, Florida, New York, Minnesota, and others. The company only offered 2-gig and 5-gig options previously, but now customers who live in Frontier’s service area will get access to the 7-gig plan. The plan comes with symmetrical 7Gbps upload and download speeds, along with unlimited monthly data and an upgraded Wi-Fi 7 router.

Oddly, while Frontier is the first to roll out 7Gbps nationwide (sort of), it’s definitely not the cheapest super high-speed internet. Google Fiber has a $150 / month 8Gbps plan, but it’s only available in select cities, such as San Antonio, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Mesa, Arizona. (Google is also experimenting with a $250 / month 20-gig plan in certain areas.) Additionally, Optimum has a $300 / month 8-gig plan as well, but you can only get it in the New York Tri-State area.
